Beautiful complexity. Those are the first two words that come to mind as I listen to this latest release from producer Alfonso Bottone. “Crossroads” is like an ethereal mind trip for the dance floor driven equally by two separate piano grooves. For the deep house crowd, this is definitely the after 3am tune for the DJ to rock (122 bpm). DJ Monchan takes a turn on boards with this tune for his Monchan Purple Night Remix to bring a funkier edge to the original and works out a perfect compliment to the original.
“Expressions” is a sexy and hypnotic house groove reminiscent of old school early 90s deep house that was played throughout NYC at the time. At 121 bpm, the record easily finds its basic influence in classic tracks like Raze’s Break 4 Luv without being a copy of it as many records in the past have. Bottone owns this sexy groove and secured his own signature sound. DJ Monchan’s remix approach to “Expressions” (Monchan’s Junglibient Remix) is very interesting in that it begins with an intro set at 60.5 bpm (in an Art Of Noise “Moments In Love” feel)and then heads into a harder more metallic remix of the track (121 bpm) before returning to the AON-like outdo. brilliant take on an already quality track. So much for DJs to work with here.

2 classics that have had the Star treatment! Simply sensational. The synth work on Everybody Loves The Sunshine, combined with that broken beat and the percussive elements are simply irresistible. Sure, everybody loves the sunshine but everybody should love the work Star Creature does as well! Stunning. DJ Osric
